Job Description
Title:LongTerm Substitute Teacher

Status:FullTime Available CalSTRS Retirement Eligible (During the Academic Year)
Daily Rate:$290.88 plus $12000 Temporary Cost of Living Allowance and MWA Benefits
Position Summary
The role of the LongTerm Substitute Teacher under the direction of the Assistant Principal or designee is critical in maintaining the continuity of learning in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. You will be responsible for developing and delivering engaging and effective instruction in your courses while creating a safe supportive and rigorous learning environment within the classroom. LongTerm Substitute Teachers are expected to collaborate with colleagues and lesson and unit plan to help students meet and exceed proficiency in content standards based on need. LongTerm Substitute Teachers are expected to actively engage and participate in culture building including but not limited to the classroom lunch recess/break supervision and hallway norm expectations. LongTerm Substitute Teachers are also expected to invest and engage in the work of developing a resultsoriented datainformed collegial productive and teamoriented approach to the work.
In light of the ongoing shortage of teachers this position has been strategically crafted to ensure the least possible disruption in the classroom for our students until a new teacher is onboarded. Upon successfully hiring a teacher you will become eligible for alternative prospects including the possibility of participating in other daytoday or longterm substitute teaching roles available. Your compensation will be appropriately adjusted if circumstances lead to your return to sporadic substitute teaching.

This role operates in a fastpaced classroom environment with a need to multitask. This role routinely uses standard classroom equipment such as laptop computers photocopiers whiteboards and Chromebooks.
