Job Description
We are looking for a Software Engineer interested in working primarily on the Device Components and Tier1 cloud services like OvertheAir updates and bidirectional Device Cloud communication to continue bringing new functionality for these critical use cases.
Our engineers are topnotch software developers who love listening to the customers working as a team and proactively taking the lead on complex software problems. A successful candidate will be responsible for creating and delivering software solutions that have the potential to impact hundreds of millions customers around the world. In this role you will have an opportunity to own design and development of key parts of these solutions. You will have influence on subsystem design and help build a team culture around practices that are critical to a quality product.
If you feel strongly about building world class software running a high volume large scale fleet have experience in developing device software and/or C/C/Rust software with strict performance requirements we would like to talk to you.
Key job responsibilities
Responsible for the development and maintenance of key Device Component features.
Will work with other team members to investigate design approaches prototype new technology and evaluate technical feasibility.
Will work in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver high quality software.
Development experience defining developing and maintaining REST based interfaces is a plus.
A day in the life
Communicate with other business teams in EReader/Tablet/FireTV/Alexa to name a few.
Collect the business requirements
Help describe software product features
Build technical designs and architecture.
Write code with at most care for customer data security and customers privacy.
About the team
The Cloud Connectivity and Management Services Team (C2MS) owns the Cloud Services and Device components used to support critical use cases like Persistent connectivity to all Amazon Devices OvertheAir software updates bidirectional communication between Amazon Devices and the Amazon Cloud.
3 years of noninternship professional software development experience
2 years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language
3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
Experience in embedded wireless systems
Experience in embedded development in C/C

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity signon payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
