Wesleyan Universitys Department of Chemistry invites applications for one fulltime Visiting Instructor/ Professor of Chemistry for theacademic year. The visitor will be the instructor and administrator for the departments twosemester sophomorelevel laboratory course sequence: Intermediate Chemistry Laboratory (CHEM257 and Organic Chemistry Laboratory (CHEM258. The visitor will be responsible for the planning and of the overall course curriculum as well as compliance with safety and chemical hygiene protocols management of assigned teaching/course assistants proper stewardship of the laboratory spaces and prompt grading and return of student work. The teaching load will include the direct instruction of 4 lab sections an appropriate amount of inperson office hours and coordination with a parttime instructor assigned to 23 additional lab sections.
Candidates must have a masters degree or higher in chemistry or another related field; a Ph.D. is required to be hired at the Visiting Professor level. Special consideration will be given to candidates with previous experience in teaching comparable laboratory courses and expertise with a variety of standard laboratory instrumentation.
