Job Description Summary
The successful applicant will be an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) interested in working fulltime in the care of Urology patients. The APP will be on the Urology Inpatient service and will join a busy and thriving Urology Department that includes 14 Urologists 15 Residents 3 Fellows and 8 Urology APPs. This APP will work closely with the physicians and nursing staff to develop and coordinate a plan of care to improve quality throughput patient experience and revenue metrics. The APP will demonstrate specialized skills and may perform diagnostic/therapeutic procedures in the care of patients who have undergone operative and other invasive procedures. The APP coordinates involvement of medical/surgical specialty teams practicing in a collaborative environment necessary to develop a comprehensive plan for the patient.Entity

Job Title: MUSCP Advanced Practice Provider (APP NP/PA) Department of Urology
Job Summary/ Purpose:
The successful applicant will be an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) interested in working fulltime in the care of Urology patients. Fair Labor Standards Act Status: Salaried/Exempt.
Hours per week: 40
Scheduled Work Hours/Shift: MondayFriday 8:00am 4:30pm.

Required Training and Experience
Required Minimum Training: Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program and currently licensed or eligible for licensure as a Physician Assistant or completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program and currently licensed or eligible for licensure as an APRN as noted below.

Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant will be assigned a Primary Supervising/Collaborating Physician employed by MUSC and will report directly to this physician.
Required Licensure Certifications Registrations
All certifications must be current and complete prior to start date:
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required for adult inpatient only positions
If applicable DHEC and DEA license applications must be started prior to first day.

Provides direct care to patients through the following activities:
Physical Requirements
Continuous requirements are to perform job functions while standing walking and sitting. Ability to bend at the waist kneel climb stairs reach in all directions fully use both hands and legs possess good finger dexterity perform repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders reach in all directions. Ability to be qualified physically for respirator use initially and as required. Maintain 20/40 vision corrected see and recognize objects close at hand and at a distance work in a latex safe environment and work indoors. Frequently lift lower push and pull and/or carry objects weighing 50 lbs / unassisted exert up to 50 lbs of force lift from 36 to overhead 25 lbs. Infrequently work in dusty areas and confined/cramped spaces.
Additional Job Description
Graduation from an approved Physician Assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARCPA) or its predecessor agencies. Must be licensed in the state of South Carolina and certified as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required
