Fairbanks International Airport (FAI) is a vital transportation hub serving residents businesses and visitors throughout Alaskas Interior. FAI is one half of the Alaska International Airport System (AIAS) and is the second largest airport in the state. What you will be doing:
We are seeking a dynamic and forwardthinking Airport Manager to lead FAIs daytoday operations and longterm strategic vision. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated expertise in airport management regulatory compliance team leadership airport operations and stakeholder collaboration. This role reports directly to the AIAS Director and requires close coordination with Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (ANC) to ensure cohesive statewide airport operations.


Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Operational Leadership: Oversee all airport functions including airfield operations facilities and field maintenance tenant/stakeholder relations public safety and emergency response.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure FAI meets or exceeds all federal and state requirements related to operations safety security and environmental standards.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with AIAS leadership to develop and implement airport initiatives aligned with the State of Alaskas aviation goals. Drive growth in passenger cargo and general aviation operations.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Foster strong relationships with airlines tenants local businesses government officials and community partners to promote FAIs mission and address emerging needs.
  • Staff Development: Lead mentor and develop a diverse and talented team ensuring a positive culture of safety innovation resiliency and customer service excellence.
