Building on some of the latest technologies in our Sacramento Rolling Stock and Rail Customer Services factories the new facility will include robotic welding 3D printing Virtual Reality weld training and software tools to enhance our manufacturing process. Join the growing team at our worldclass train manufacturing facility in Lexington North Carolina. Siemens Mobility Rolling Stock Division is the North American market leader in the production of passenger locomotives and coaches and light rail vehicles. As an ElectroMechanical Technician I you will support a broad range of electrical and mechanical assembly and installation activities in a dynamic highenergy production environment building electrical control racks wire harnesses and other subassemblies for the best rail vehicles in the world.

What your daytoday will look like:

  • Build up and assemble units in passenger coaches such as but not limited to roofs cable harnesses mounted parts electrical racks and panels including air supply racks and piping assemblies.
  • Connect wires between individual component leads and other components connectors terminals and contact points.
  • Cut wire to specified lengths and route twist wrap tie and attach wire to terminal points.
  • Disassemble modify rework refurbish and reassemble components as required.
  • Working from production blueprints wiring diagrams parts lists wire lists sketches and verbal instructions to produce electrical or ElectroMechanical subassemblies.
  • Frequently required to use fine motor skills assembling some small parts with excellent dexterity.

To thrive in this role you have:

  • High school education or state recognized GED or equivalent combination of education and experience in a manufacturing or similar environment such as electrical panel assembly construction automotive or electrical service industries.
  • Capable of basic written and verbal communication in English
  • Experience using torque wrenches crimpers and strippers
  • Knowledge of reading of blueprints schematics engineering diagrams and various part lists is helpful.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards is preferred

Physical Demands:

  • Frequently walk reach with hands and arms stoop kneel crouch or crawl.
  • Perform work overhead.
  • Occasionally lift and move at most 40 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to focus.
