Our District:
The Sultan School District is one of the larger geographical school districts in the Puget Sound area consisting of approximately 325 square miles. Sultan School District has approximately 2000 students enrolled K12. Students are currently served by two elementary schools a middle school a high school and an alternative high school; and the SnoIsle Skills Center a cooperative vocational technical school.
Our Community:
Located northeast of Seattle (seven miles east of Monroe) or about 20 minutes from the Woodinville area Sultan is surrounded by a beautiful environmental setting. Our backyard is the scenic Skykomish River and Cascade Mountains. Sultan School District includes the community of Sultan Startup and Gold Bar. Students from Index attend Sultan High School.

Job Summary:
The Assistant Coach will assist with the athletic program. The assistant coach will assist with the organization and supervision of the program including budgeting ordering inventory player supervision awards team rosters and equipment management.
Position requires the coach to perform duties assigned by the Head Coach and/or the Athletic Director which involve managing the sport program duties to include providing instruction and experiences for students to help prepare them mentally and physically for athletic competition as well as to enhance their personal physical and social growth and development in a multiethnic environment.

Work Environment:
Work is typically performed outdoors; requires substantial extrahours work travel between sites stamina and endurance and physical exertion associated with demonstrating techniques; must be willing to work outdoors in inclement weather; may be required to balance crouch crawl bend kneel and stand for prolonged periods; may be exposed to high noise levels and childhood diseases; and may experience a multitude of demands and changing priorities with frequent interruptions.
Evaluation:
The Assistant Coach shall be evaluated within 20 days of the close of the sports season by the Head Coach and/or Athletic Director pursuant to the currently established district procedures and evaluation criteria. The process shall include an evaluation of the employees performance of the above essential job functions.

Disclosure Statement and Background Check
Pursuant to Chapter 43.43 Washington Laws of 1990 the recommended applicant will be required to complete a disclosure form indicating whether he/she has been convicted of crimes against persons listed in the law. In addition a background check based on fingerprints will be requested from the Washington State Patrol.
