Job Description

Summer Program: June 30 2025 to August 1 2025 (No program July 4th) Hours: MondayFriday 8:00 am 4:15 pm Admin Team Orientation: June 25th Staff Orientation: June 26th and June 27thAbout Carroll School: Located in Waltham Lincoln and Wayland Massachusetts Carroll School is an independent day school that serves students with languagebased learning differences such as dyslexia. Carroll School empowers children to become academically skilled students who are strong selfadvocates and confident lifelong learners prepared to enter other academic settings. Carroll is an inclusive community committed to embracing diverse strengths identities and lived experiences in order to give each child what they most need to thrive.Summer School Overview: is a fiveweek summer school program for students entering grades 19 who have been diagnosed with a languagebased learning difference such as dyslexia. Students participate in academic classes and recreational programming each School is an equal opportunity employer that offers competitive salaries.Position Summary::This position is assigned to one or two grades within the range of grades 34 (Waltham) grades 57 (Lincoln) or grades 89 (Lincoln). Writing teachers report to the Writing Supervisor and the Director. writing teachers provide direct and explicit multisensory writing instruction that is tailored to the needs of each of their small groups. This position requires a candidate with experience teaching students with languagebased learning differences..Responsibilities:
  • Work with students in small groups (approximately 8 students) to directly teach skills and strategies that support written expression
  • Research and select instructional materials to provide smallgroup instruction and to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student
  • Design lessons that focus on the writing process and incorporate the use of graphic organizers and revision checklists
  • activities
  • Attend the mandatory Staff Orientation along with a required departmental meeting mid program
  • Contribute weekly updates on writing for families (using Seesaw)
  • Complete academic reports detailing progress and areas of concern for each individual student
  • For High School Readiness teachers work with other HSR teachers to host conferences for the students on the last day of the program
