JOB SUMMARY
The Associate Director of the Center for Intercultural Engagement (CIE) plays a critical role in advancing cultural literacies and strengthening resources of care for all students at Northeastern University. Reporting to the Director the Associate Director collaborates with university stakeholders and community partners to develop manage and execute the Centers signature programs outreach initiatives and core services. This includes oversight of budgetary planning operational management and programmatic impact assessment.
This position leads a distinct portfolio within the Center:
Intercultural Learning and Curriculum Development:
Lead program evaluation curriculum development and evidencebased assessment to enhance the Centers effectiveness on the Boston campus and across Northeasterns global network.
Student Support and Leadership of the firstgen undocumented and lowincome student success program:
Oversee student support programming by strengthening institutional resources and fostering a supportive network to ensure these students thrive.
The Associate Director will oversee initiatives within their assigned portfolio ensuring alignment with the Centers mission and goals. With a focus on facilitating dialogue and engagement across diverse and intersectional identity groups the Center provides an intercultural learning program that equips students with the awareness knowledge and skills to recognize respect and affirm varied perspectives and lived experiences within the Northeastern community.
Additionally this position oversees fulltime professional staff advises student organizations and affinity groups and mentors student employees including coop students and interns.
This position requires frequent nights and weekends to ensure the success of programs and services.
QUALIFICATIONS
Masters degree in a related field (e.g. Higher Education Cultural Studies) and 35 years of experience working with diverse or socially vulnerable populationsor an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated ability in designing implementing and evaluating educational programs training curricula and workshops that promote intercultural learning social identity development and student wellness.
Experience fostering collaboration with students faculty and staff from diverse backgrounds.
Strong analytical abilities in data analysis program assessment and reporting.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Intercultural Student Learner and Leader Resource Navigation and Development
Lead the development implementation and assessment of studentcentered programs that support intergroup learning holistic wellbeing belonging and academic success.
Serve as the Centers liaison and crisis case support administrator to UHCS OPEN Care Office and other university partners in support of learners prioritized by the Center.
Assist with the development and refinement of training materials and quality assurance processes for student leader and peer educator programs.
Oversee purchasing for and fiscal oversight of signature Center programs as determined.
Serve as a universitywide subject matter expert on the support needs of students staff and faculty.
Programming Communications and Outreach
Partner with the Director to operationalize the Centers strategic approach to programming and signature events and engage in the program planning process from ideation through assessment.
Mentor and support students identified as firstgen undocumented and lowincome as well as individuals with intersectional identities and affinities.
Coordinate major programming initiatives for the Center as determined and required.
Oversee communications efforts including social media channels newsletters and collaterals to enhance engagement and visibility of the Centers programs.
Collaborate with campus and community partners to build coalitions strengthen institutional support and secure resources for student needs and programming.
Administrative
Oversee the training and professional development curriculum for student employees delivering core Center programs.
Process contracts for programs and manage the administrative component of program planning.
Assess and document programmatic impact to inform continuous improvement.
Supervise and mentor one fulltime professional staff member.

$66851.00 $94427.75With the pay range(s) shown above the starting salary will depend on several factors which may include your education experience location knowledge and expertise and skills as well as a pay comparison to similarlysituated employees already in the role.
