Position Summary
Indiana University Indianapolis University Library seeks a creative collaborative librarian to join its Educational Services Unit to contribute to a robust instruction and liaison program. The Social Sciences Librarian will work closely with one other Business Librarian as well as the faculty and administration of the Kelley School of Business and the Paul H. ONeill School of Public and Environmental Affairs to ensure that University Library meets their research and instructional needs. We are seeking applicants who welcome a dynamic collaborative and inclusive environment with a desire to impact student learning and faculty success. This is a 12month tenuretrack position which includes expectations of professional development/creative activity and service with an anticipated start date of Monday June 2 2025. The Social Sciences Librarian reports to the Associate Dean for Educational Services. The position will participate in the Educational Services Units core functions of teaching learning outreach engagement and instructional assessment. Responsibilities Serve as liaison to the Paul H. ONeill School of Public and Environmental Affairs. Serve as one of two liaisons to the Kelley School of Business primarily supporting first and secondyear undergraduate students. Create and maintain subject specific learning materials. Provide and assess instructional services in assigned liaison areas with learning outcomes aligned with University Library information literacy learning outcomes and curriculum. Provide research support to faculty and students in assigned liaison areas. Adhere to IU Indianapolis University Library Liaison Guidelines including instruction research consultations outreach & communication scholarly communications (such as open access promotion and tenure research metrics) and awareness and use of open educational resources. Secondary Responsibilities Participate in Educational Services Team meetings and activities. Participate in meetings and taskforces related to Library Faculty Governance. Provide support to Team colleagues when required. Other duties as assigned. Compensation and Application Minimum salary is $58000 with additional funding for professional development and travel.
