Title: KCKPS STUDENT TEACHERS & KCKPS STUDENT CERTIFIED STAFF Fall & Spring Semester 2024/2025
This job posting collects applications from our 2024 Fall semester and 2025 Spring semester student teachers and other student certified staff who are currently in our Kansas City Kansas Public Schools completing their student teaching assignment or practicum assignments and wish to be considered for jobs in theschool year.
Please note applications submitted on this posting from candidates not currently student teaching or student certified personnel(speech pathologists counselors social workers school psychologist occupational therapist physical therapist) at a KCKPS school will need to complete other job postings.
When submitting your application email addresses must be provided for all references. Two of your three references should be from persons with firsthand knowledge of your teaching ability including one supervisor and/or cooperating teacher. JOB GOAL:
To facilitate student comprehension and application of concepts skills and behaviors that contribute to the development of mature able and responsible member of society. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
QUALIFICATIONS:Meets the employment qualifications set forth by the Kansas City Kansas Board of Education and the Kansas State Department of Education. Kansas teaching certificate in area of instructional responsibility. If not a teacher then must have certification or license in area of specialization by date of graduation and in time for the August 2020 school year. English as a Second Language endorsement preferred or be committed to obtaining that endorsement.
COMMUNICATION:Maintains communication with teachers other school personnel and parents/guardians to enhance cooperative action which will meet the educational needs of students. Provides health services information and counseling in an effective and positive manner to enhance the health and wellness of the school community. Completes accident/incident reports for students/staff.
Compiles data for statistical purposes. Maintains confidentiality regarding educational records.
REASONING ABILITY:Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:Ability to read and analyze and interpret general professional journals technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports general curriculum and learning theories correspondence and protocols. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of administrators staff parents students and the general public.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
