Job Description

Job Summary
The Department of Mathematics in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Kentucky in Lexington Kentucky invites applications for two fulltime Lecturer positions to begin August 1 2025. The selected candidates will be appointed to a 9month nontenure eligible faculty position for an initial twoyear period that has the potential for renewal and for promotion to Senior Lecturer after five years. Duties will include instruction some graduate mentoring and departmental service. The department is seeking applicants who intend to establish a longterm teaching career within the Department. Evidence of teaching excellence is valued as are the administrative organizational and mentoring skills required to teach and coordinate large classes. Lecturers are vital to the teaching mission of the Mathematics department. Lecturers will teach primarily first year mathematics courses as well as some second and thirdyear courses Additionally Lecturers will normally provide instructional leadership and support including course coordination curriculum development overseeing the math tutoring center assisting with instructional technology among others. A Ph.D. degree in mathematics or a closely related field by the time of the appointment is required. In order to be considered a candidate applicants will need to complete the following two steps: 1.
