POSITION PHILOSOPHY
Puretec strives to always do whats right do it well and show people it cares. Field Service Technicians help Puretec achieve these goals by installing and maintaining equipment to help establish and maintain our ongoing relationships with our clients. The Field Service Technician is primarily responsible for installing new water treatment equipment providing preventative maintenance and responding to emergencies in the field for industrial accounts. To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain water treatment equipment
- Diagnose problems replace or repair parts test and make any necessary adjustments
- Load and unload a truck for each customers service site as dispatched
- Conduct a daily truck inspection and report any safety or mechanical issues found immediately
- Complete all MMAs or services based on the date scheduled by management
- Use a variety of hand and power tools electric meters and material handling equipment
- Continuation of education on purification equipment and theory
- Notify management of any concerns that may arise regarding service stops
- Make sure and respond to emergency service calls when scheduled to be on call
- Adhere to company and customers site safety requirements
- Use logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions conclusions or approaches to problems
- Foster a cooperative and harmonious working climate conductive to maximize employee morale and productivity and work closely with other departments to complete common goals
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested
Qualifications
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Ability to learn to; install test troubleshoot and repair water treatment systems including but not limited to Water Softeners RO (Reverse Osmosis) units Pumps Controllers PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems and UltraPure Water Systems.
- Proficient with PVC from to 4 and troubleshooting other general plumbing and/or electrical systems
- Ability to read and interpret documents furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form including manuals PI&D calipers tape measures and angle gauges
- Willingness to adhere to assigned routes schedules safety procedures and transportation laws
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong English written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate and maintain positive relationships with both internal and external partners while demonstrating tact diplomacy and calmness in a proactively diverse and inclusive organization
- Ability to work independently and within a team to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given prescribed routines and standard accepted practices.
- Outstanding organizational/time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize workload
- Must maintain a positive friendly supportive attitude and professional image at all times
CERTIFICATES LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS
- Hold and maintain all required driver and other licenses including Class B C commercial drivers license (CDL) with all required endorsements and proof of drivers liability insurance if job requires as well as have and maintain a clean driving record.
- Relevant training certifications in industry topics helpful.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
- While performing the duties of this position the employee is regularly required to sit stand talk hear observe see use hands to finger handle or feel; reach with hands and arms.
- This position is very active and requires standing walking bending kneeling stooping crouching crawling and climbing all day.
- Must be able to frequently lift twist and/or pull items over 40lbs using the buddy system as needed.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
