Job Description
Our client a trailblazer in solar energy solutions is committed to sustainable growth and cuttingedge technology offering you the chance to be part of something truly transformative. They are looking for an Electrical Project Engineer to join a dynamic team in Durban.

Duties & Responsibilities
Youll be responsible for detailed electrical design solar system optimization and ensuring successful from concept to commissioning.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a solid electrical background solar experience and a proactive approach to problemsolving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce detailed Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) for solar PV systems including switchgear DBs and full electrical layouts.
- Use Helioscope (or equivalent) to generate panel layouts and optimize inverter stringing and system performance.
- Design and specify battery storage solutions for hybrid and backup systems.
- Create and maintain accurate Bill of Materials (BOMs) for procurement and costing.
- Manage and follow through on SSEG applications alongside the PR Engineer client and admin team taking full responsibility until completion.
- Participate in project kickoff meetings and assist with technical handovers and commissioning documentation.
- Collaborate across project admin and technical teams to ensure smooth delivery and clear communication.
- Ensure all designs meet SANS NRS and other local compliance standards.
- Electrical Engineering qualification or Electrical Technician with relevant solar experience.
- Proficiency in solar PV system design and layout tools (e.g. Helioscope PV*Sol AutoCAD).
- Solid understanding of electrical systems inverter matching and string configurations.
- Experience with or understanding of SSEG application processes (advantageous).
- Strong attention to detail accountability and problemsolving mindset.
- Willingness to work after hours when necessary to meet project deadlines.
- A selfstarter with a collaborative and professional approach.
