Juvenile Detention Center Summer School Program
Approximately 6.5 hours per day timesheet
Salary: $20.80 $23.21 per hour
Summer School: June 16 2025 August 8 2025
DESCRIPTION: Assist the Juvenile Detention Center Summer School teacher(s) with duties to increase student learning for students grades six through twelve. In addition monitoring students helping with schoolwork and preparing materials. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum AA degree equivalent or passed PRAXIS is required. Experience working with marginalized underrepresented and struggling learners is a must. Understanding how to relate to students with high social/emotional needs will be helpful as well as interpersonal skills. Working well collaboratively with the Summer teacher and Detention Center staff is a must as well.Ability to make good decisions. Patient flexible selfmotivated good communication teamwork academic skills and a good sense of humor. Ability to depersonalize when confronted by student(s). Ability to follow a written plan. Ability to relate well to students parents and staff. May require prolonged sitting or standing. Attendance and punctuality are important functions of this position.
