Position Summary
The Lead Director of Strategic Analysis is a critical leader and is responsible for managing and successfully driving the strategic analysis portfolio and initiatives that solves key business problems and creates new sources of value within Aetnas Clinical Solutions business unit. This work results in initiatives that significantly impact company strategy enabling Aetna to be competitive in the marketplace and effectively serve its customers. Accountable for contracting initiative planning business results and ongoing relationship management and satisfaction for large scale high value initiatives impacting the delivery of products and services to the internal and external environment.
You will make an impact by:
- Driving the evaluation of new analytical concepts emerging trends and clinical operations/offerings benchmarking within the healthcare industry and subsequently develops these trends into new and innovative solutions that solve key business problems and deliver break through value.
- Leading or guiding development of holistic solutions and/or key strategic plans. Proactively identifies opportunities for improvement and independently influences business leader(s) including the most senior level to act or change behavior through complex negotiations and/or expert consultation that promotes issue resolution.
- Partnering with cross functional teams to plan develop analytical solution and track of project deliverables and responsible budget management.
- Conducting thorough business case and external customer value analysis to determine selection prioritization positioning and approach for broadest range of potential solutions (e.g. outsourcing continuous improvements technology solutions)
- Driving client contracting process builds optimal influential client relationship for results and deliverables and manages relationship throughout engagement; fully integrates baseline and metrics tracking into initiative planning and for optimal results.
- Shares joint accountability for initiatives return on investment; communicates compelling and concise results to empower business owner in decision making process regarding project opportunities.
- Managing and building a strong team through formal training diverse assignments and coaching mentoring and other development techniques
- Contribute to a motivated work environment by working collaboratively and effectively with key stakeholders across Health Care Business and Aetna Clinical Solutions to achieve common goals.
- Supporting CVS Health in attracting retaining and engaging a diverse and inclusive consumercentric workforce that delivers on our purpose and reflects the communities in which we work live and serve.
Required Qualifications
- 8 years leading complex teams with knowledge of the healthcare system including medical management claims and provider networks.
- Experience demonstrated in managing a team. Provide leadership to staff and demonstrated ability to work well in a highly matrixed multidisciplinary environment as well as independently to build the trust and respect of our key stakeholders.
- Successful experience as a seasoned portfolio management leader with experience leading in an agile environment in the healthcare industry and success moving from concept to actionable goals and business outcomes.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills effectively communicate key messages to executive leaders and internal/external stake holders.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; proven ability to deliver presentations to senior leadership team members.
- Demonstrated competence and expert in data and analytical skills including modeling synthesizing information and deriving key insights to guide strategy and business outcomes.
- Experience developing analysis exceptional problemsolving skills and presentations skills to effectively communicate complex concepts.
- Knowledge of clinical and health plan operations and value creation methodologies including Utilization and Policy Management Care Management and Coordination Quality Compliance and Regulatory Management
- Demonstrated a commitment to diversity equity and inclusion through continuous development modeling inclusive behaviors and proactively managing bias.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5 years with demonstrated leadership and experience with the following: Innovation advanced analytics business process optimization enterprise business portfolio management/consulting financial analysis mergers and acquisitions strategic planning risk management.
- Experience creating new capabilities and/or project offerings that result in new value
- Demonstrated relationship management skills at the senior level capacity to quickly build and maintain credible relationships at varying levels of the organization simultaneously.
- Experience with enterprisewide and/or crossfunctional large scale initiative and investment portfolio with high degree of complexity
- Ability to manage and grow a team of individuals to achieve departmental goals at a rapid pace.
- Experience working in a face paced dynamic environment with the ability to effectively manage multiple teams and priorities.
- Ability to embrace change manage shifting priorities anticipate roadblocks and strong planning skills to meet business objectives.
Education
Bachelor degree or equivalent experience
Masters degree preferred but not required
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$100000.00 $231540.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual fulltime salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience education geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus commission or shortterm incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the companys equity award program.
