LATERAL HIRING INCENTIVES:
The City of Oxnard offers hiring incentives for Lateral Police Officers.
$20000 cash incentive paid out as follows:- First Installment: $6500 upon completion of the officers probationary period.
- Second Installment: $6500 upon completion of 24 months of fulltime active service.
- Third Installment: $7000 upon completion of 36 months of fulltime active service.
Conditions Needed Upon Hire to Qualify
An officer must meet the following conditions upon hirefor the incentive to be offered:- The officer must have worked at another California agency as a police officer as defined under Penal Code section 832 for a minimum of two 2 years.
- The officer must have completed their probationary period.
- The officer must be in good standing with their former agency. Good standing means that an officer has not received formal disciplinary action to include a suspension demotion or termination within the 12 month period served prior to applying for work with the City of Oxnard.
- The officer must not have previously been employed with the City of Oxnard as a police officer.

Prior to appointment all candidates must pass a thorough background investigation and will be required to undergo a polygraph test psychological evaluation and medical examination.

NOTE:
For most positions the City of Oxnard relies on office automation (Microsoft Office) and webbased enabled tools therefore candidates must be proficient and comfortable with computer use to perform functions associated with ongoing work.
Regular and reliable attendance effective communication skills and development of effective working relationships are requirements of all positions.
City staff may be required to play an active role in the event of an emergency which may include changes in responsibilities and working hours.

This position requires a twelve 12 month probationary period.
Employees are required to participate in the Citys direct deposit plan and are paid on a biweekly basis.
