Are you passionate about operating and enhancing missioncritical security solutions that protect Amazons vast infrastructure The Endpoint Security Capabilities and Platform Engineering (ESCAPE) team is seeking a driven Systems Engineer to join our dynamic group. We are responsible for managing the tools and services that monitor and respond to malicious/suspicious activity across Amazon and its subsidiaries with a focus on delivering bestinclass endpoint security solutions.

In this pivotal role youll be at the forefront of implementing operating and continuously improving our security agent services working with both firstparty and thirdparty security solutions. Your work will directly impact the effectiveness and reliability of our endpoint solutions making a direct impact on the security posture of Amazon and its subsidiaries. Key job responsibilities
Administer and optimize the deployment configuration and performance of our endpoint security agents across Amazons global infrastructure and its subsidiaries.
Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to gather and prioritize requirements ensuring our solutions meet the evolving security needs of the business.
Develop and maintain automated processes for the efficient management and scaling of our endpoint security services.
Troubleshoot complex issues and drive the resolution of problems working closely with crossfunctional teams to deliver reliable highperformance solutions.
Leverage various monitoring and analysis tools to proactively identify and address security risks.
Evaluate and test new capabilities to enhance our endpoint security platform.
Stay current with the latest trends and best practices in endpoint security contributing to the continuous improvement of our service offerings.


A day in the life
As a Systems Engineer in the ESCAPE team your day centers on maintaining Amazons endpoint security agent infrastructure. Youll monitor system health address alerts and collaborate with security engineers IT third party vendors and others to optimize agent deployments. Tasks include finetuning automation scripts testing new capabilities and analyzing logs for potential issues. Youll work closely with product owners to prioritize features and plan deployments. Your customers are Amazons business units and subsidiaries whose endpoints you protect. Key challenges involve maintaining system performance at scale minimizing impact related to agent changes and deployments and swiftly responding to issues within our supported infrastructure. Your role is vital in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of Amazons endpoint security platform across its diverse technology landscape.

Bachelors degree in STEM field or 5 years of equivalent experience.
3 years Experience in information technology in a related industry
3 Years experience with managing and deploying Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) AntiVirus (AV) and or Data Loss Prevention (DLP) services
Experience in deploying and supporting applications and infrastructure in a 24x7 production environment
Experience working with different Operating Systems such as Linux/Unix macOS and Windows. Experience with scripting and automation using languages such as Python PowerShell and and familiarity with shell scripting (e.g. Bash)

Understanding of cloudbased services particularly AWS
Experience working in a global distributed team environment across multiple time zones
Proven ability to handle complex technical challenges in largescale system administration and security environments

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $94000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $207900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
