Job Description
The WW Reference Pricing team owns the computation validation and display logic of strikethrough prices and low price messages for Amazon online and physical stores worldwide. Online our reference prices can be seen across several Amazon retail website pages such as Product Detail Page and Search results. In physical stores our strikethrough prices are presented on electronic shelf displays and pointofsales in stores such as Amazon Fresh Whole Foods Market and Amazon Go. Our mission is to help buyers always find the best prices at Amazon. We are responsible for offering value to buyers by consistently reinforcing low pricing across categories for Amazon retail fulfilled by Amazon and thirdparty products. Our team owns systems that serve data to customer facing applications handling millions of transactions per second and refreshing reference prices for millions of products daily.
We are working on building the next generation tools and software to help our customers make informed purchases. This requires a wide range of skills or aptitude to learn new technologies like:
build largescale highquality systems that can react/record thousands of events per second and render the information on customer facing UI with low latency.
knack of solving technology problems in simplistic manner with an eye for innovation.
There is abundance of problems/opportunities in this space and Pricing is one of the top key strategy areas on Amazon retail. We are looking for smart agile and strong problem solvers who have burning passion for writing great software and solving big data problems.

Successful candidates for this position will have a strong background in designing and developing worldclass micro services in software programming languages such as Java Scala Ruby C C# Python and NodeJS. Equally important to these specific candidate skills are excellent written and verbal communication skills both with the team and external teams the ability to multitask the ability to translate business requirements to engineering requirements the ability adapt quickly to new environments and using creativity to solve difficult problems in a worldclass engineering team.
3 years of noninternship professional software development experience
2 years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent
3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
Experience with scalable distributed systems and service oriented architectures

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity signon payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
