Amazon is looking for a Corporate Counsel Security to join the team of lawyers supporting our global security teams policies and practices across a diverse array of business lines and groups including consumer devices entertainment healthcare operations corporate services physical stores and more.
This role will be based in Seattle Washington and will report to an Associate General Counsel. Some travel domestic and international may be required.
Key job responsibilities * Providing advice and support to security teams and others on compliance with all manner of security laws and regulations including cybersecurity data privacy and data breach laws. * Leading the legal response for security incidents directing investigation assessing legal obligations and advising on and drafting customer and regulator communications. * Supporting our teams in drafting and presenting securityrelated documents to various audiences including executive leadership. * Working collaboratively with teams including Compliance Public Policy Public Relations Privacy and partner legal teams. * Managing outside counsel relationships directing budgeting and allocation of resources staffing and strategic approaches to work. * Providing legal advice and support on security aspects of due diligence and M&A agreements.

5 years of legal experience Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
3 years experience in a law firm regularly supporting multinational companies including technology companies 3 years experience specializing in global cybersecurity and data protection matters Experience in an inhouse role is a plus Experience in a role advising on the privacy and security of healthcare and/or payments data is a plus Ability to demonstrate sound judgment in ambiguous situations Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to crossfunctional teams Excellent organizational skills ability to manage multiple projects at once follow through and meet deadlines Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
