Were looking to add a handful of highimpact engineers to our team. In this role you will partner with internal and external teams to design high quality cost effective solutions for our fulfillment and distribution systems. You will own multiple projects simultaneously from concept realization through design approval. You will be our suppliers primary point of technical contact for your projects. Then once the design is completed and approved you will handoff the project to our Ops Engineering team who will oversee the installation and commissioning of the project. Youll continue engaging with that team to ensure that the system youve designed is successfully installed commissioned and launched.

Your projects may include greenfields brownfields and retrofits including highly automated fulfillment centers crossdock facilities and transportation centers. Your projects will be a variety of templatebased and designedfromscratch.

You will work with a team of highly skilled and highly engaged engineers in a fastpaced and often ambiguous environment. Our team works on hundreds of projects each year. You will learn; you will work on high impact high visibility projects; you will grow.

Responsibilities:

Invent design and implement engineering solutions to complex material flow/transformation and human/machine efficiency problems throughout the global Amazon supply chain.
Coordinate design and innovation efforts to develop optimal solutions for the fulfillment and transportation network through equipment specification material flow process design site layout and intellectual property considerations.
Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to generate high quality cost effective solutions in very short periods of time.
Simultaneously manage multiple projects and tasks while effectively influencing negotiating and communicating with internal and external business partners contractors and vendors.
Ability to travel 40 globally to interact with internal and external business and technical leaders.

Bachelors degree in Engineering (any discipline) or foreign equivalent or a related field or 5 years Amazon experience
2 years of industry experience in Design/Innovation Engineering Manufacturing/Process/Industrial Engineering or related
Experience must involve ownership/management of engineering design projects involving Material Handling Equipment (MHE)
Experience using business/technical software like MS Excel MS Project and CAD software

Masters degree in Engineering (any discipline) or foreign equivalent Operations Business Administration or a related field and at least five years of progressively responsible experience in the specialty
Experience with complex automated material handling equipment packaging technologies robotics and/or highspeed manufacturing
Experience with process design and based on Lean Principles
Proficiency with concepts like system architecture optimization system dynamics and using statistics and data to solve problems.
Ability to travel 20 including globally

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
