Research Assistant Professor
The Department of Physical Therapy in the College of Public Health and Health Professions at the University of Florida invites qualified individuals to apply for a Research Assistant Professor position. This new position is a 12month fulltime 1.0 FTE) nontenureaccruing faculty position.
The ideal applicant is expected to be a rehabilitation scientist with a diverse clinical background including expertise in skeletal muscle disease and physiology who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and interacts effectively with faculty from multiple disciplines staff clinicians and trainees.
The applicant will demonstrate an established research record with a history of peerreviewed publications and conference presentations. While the primary focus of this position will be on research a small amount of teaching in an area consistent with the applicants expertise may be available. As such in addition to developing a strong research agenda this individual will be expected to bring pediatric clinical expertise exceptional teaching abilities and a commitment to the education and development of future rehabilitation clinicians and scientists.

PhD Degree or equivalent
The department is particularly interested in applicants who have:
1 Expertise in skeletal muscle disease and physiology across the lifespan and in disease.
2 Clinical experience as a physical therapist (PT) in a pediatric setting.
3 Two years of postdoctoral training.
4 One to three years of teaching experience with a DPT curriculum.
