Job Description

The Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine seeks a Research Technician to join Dr. Taika von Konigslows lab at the department of Population Medicine and Diagnostic Sciences. You will support their work by providing complex technical lab support and performing a broad range of laboratory and research related tasks.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree or higher

  • Animal handling and clinical skills experience that could include but are not limited to: catheter placement blood sample collection nasal and respiratory secretion collection and ultrasound image collection

  • Experience with sample and data postprocessing

  • Interest in livestock technologies

  • Strong problem solving skills

  • Strong laboratory skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively with students

  • A valid drivers license will be required to drive a research vehicle to and from farms

Employees working in the laboratory must receive the preexposure rabies prophylaxis vaccination series prior to or immediately after hire which will be paid for by the department.

Important Details about the Position

  • This is an onsite position located in Ithaca NY.

  • This is a fulltime 6 month temporary position with potential to extend into a regular appointment contingent upon funding and performance

  • We are unable to provide Visa sponsorship now or in the future for this position.

  • Relocation assistance will not be provided for this position.
