About the Role
Lead the development maintenance and support of new and existing digital webbased products that align with ABC strategy and supports the achievements of Product & Content Technologys objectives.
Key Accountabilities
- Provide superior technical development skills within ABC Digital Networks Technology team to develop high performance secure and accessible digital products in an efficient manner across desktop mobile and potentially other device groups.
- Support the engineering leadership by providing development guidance and support to colleagues.
- Lead the analysis design and development of particularly complex reusable components and functionality for a broad range of uses across various ABC digital properties.
- Produce and maintain a professional and comprehensive approach to documentation including project documentation for ongoing reference purposes.
- Deliver high quality product development within agreed time and budget constraints; and ensure efficient and effective use of resources.
- Maintain a high level of awareness of best industry practices for web development particularly in areas such as performance security SEO and accessibility; and share this information with the team and wider business.
- Continually improve the quality of output by developing or contributing significantly to the development of best practices and development standards.
About You
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or extensive equivalent skills knowledge and industry experience in web development is essential.
- Outstanding back end (API development database modelling and integration patterns) skills using Golang with proven experience developing particularly complex workflows to meet needs of users from various cohorts.
- Experience working with AWS services using an InfrastructureasCode (IaC) approach with the ability to provision infrastructure using CDK or Terraform.
- Demonstrated detailed knowledge and experience in assessing selecting and using modern frameworks implementing automated/unit testing and version control branching merging and versioning strategies.
- Demonstrated outstanding verbal and written communication skills with a strong ability to foster an open and creative approach both within and across teams.
- Demonstrated significant experience providing technical leadership within a development team and establishing effective and strategic working relationships with other areas of the business.
- Outstanding planning and task prioritisation skills with the proven ability to effectively plan and prioritise projects and tasks; while working under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
- Experience working on editorial workflows in the digital media delivery space would be highly desirable.
- Outstanding analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to solve particularly complex problems with methodical approach and attention to details.
