The Intern will be part of the Index Management & Production Group (IMPG) which is responsible for the maintenance and calculation of S&P Dow Jones Indices which includes a wide range of highprofile global indices including the S&P 500 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average.
Responsibilities and Impact:
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Summer Intern to join our Index Management department. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools Generative AI (GenAI) Python scripting and Excel VBA. This internship will provide handson experience in automating processes to enhance IWF research tasks performed by market managers.
- Collaborate with market managers to understand their processes for IWF research and identify opportunities for automation.
- Utilize Power Automate Dataverse Dataflow and other tools on the Power Platform to develop and implement automation solutions.
- Integrate RPA tools with Spark Assist S&Ps internal Generative AI application to create intelligent RPA processes that improve efficiency in IWF research.
- Write and test Python scripts to support data extraction and processing for IWF research tasks.
- Utilize Excel VBA to automate repetitive tasks and enhance data management related to market analysis.
- Document automation processes and maintain clear communication with team members regarding project status and challenges.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for process improvements and automation strategies.
Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $25 to $30.
What Were Looking For:
Basic Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science Information Technology Data Science or a related field.
- Familiarity with Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools especially Power Automate.
- Basic understanding of Generative AI and the ability to write instructions for AI models.
- Proficiency in Python scripting and experience with data manipulation.
- Knowledge of Excel VBA and its applications in automating tasks.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
