The University of Nevada Las Vegas invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Music UNLV College of Fine Arts R0147066
ROLE of the POSITION
This position is for a fulltime 9month tenuretrack appointment in Applied Oboe and Bassoon at the Assistant Professor level beginning Fall 2025. Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate studio oboe and bassoon including studio and reed making classes coaching woodwind ensembles recruitment performing chamber music in faculty ensembles and serving as a visible resource to the music and music education community. Additional teaching in other areas will depend on the strengths of the candidate music business music theory music technology music education or music history. Additional duties include contributing to the scholarly advancement of the field through research and/or creative activities and serving on departmental college and university committees.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires an earned D.M.A. or D.M. in oboe performance bassoon performance or an equivalent field at the time of the appointment for tenuretrack faculty. ABDs near the completion of their degree program will be ideal candidate will be a highly skilled performer and an effective teacher of both oboe and should have a proven ability to teach and recruit double reed students at the collegiate level and possess significant performance experience at both regional and national levels. Candidates should be actively involved in double reed related organizations and maintain an active schedule of performances and scholarly activities. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment.
