Job Overview
The Category Manager is an individual contributor position that procures hardware/services for the buildout of TMobile Cloud. It will negotiate and maintain commercial terms and contracts with hardware suppliers. The Category Manager owns and drives strategic sourcing initiatives including Request for Proposals (RFP) Request for Quotations (RFQ) and Requests for Information (RFI). It will also help drive TMobiles strategic direction within the TMobile Cloud category. The Category Manager leads and supports crossfunctional sourcing groups ensuring supplier performance and drives strategic sourcing initiatives which includes sourcing plan management supplier issue tracking/resolution project status communication and risk assessment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Competitively source server/cloud hardware and services spend through RFI RFP and RFQ processes and evaluate and score responses.
  • Liaise with technical personnel to develop and interpret technical specifications to commercial and corporate financial requirements.
  • Drafting negotiating and executing contractual documents including but not limited to master service agreements statements of work letter agreements and purchase orders.
  • Maintain understanding of global supply chain impacts/challenges that impact server hardware supply.
  • Summarize and present business cases and agreements for executive review and approval.

Education:

  • Bachelors Degree Business Finance Technology or Engineering (Required)

Work Experience:

  • 47 years experience in a technology sourcing engineering or similar role. (Required) Specific experience with server hardware preferred.
  • 47 years experience managing technical requirement gathering. (Required)
  • 47 years experience contracting SOWs or like documents. (Required)

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Strategic Sourcing Development and management of strategic sourcing activities (Required)
  • Microsoft Office Proficient in PowerPoint Word and Excel (Required)
  • RFP/RFI Development Develop strategic RFx for specific category of spend (Required)
  • Contract Negotiation Direct negotiation of contracts (Required)
  • Communication Experience communicating to leadership mainly through PowerPoint(Required)
  • Project Management (Preferred)

At least 18 years of age

Overland Park KS Compensation Range: $94700 $128100

Base Pay Range: $87000 $156900

Corporate Bonus Target: 15

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidates actual pay will be based on various factors such as work location qualifications and experience so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.

Most Corporate employees are eligible for a yearend bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employees eligible earnings in the prior year.
