Job Description:
Job Duties include:
Installing configuring and upgrading Oracle software and related products.
Applying Oracle patches and updates to keep the database uptodate and secure.
Installing and configuring Oracle client software on Windows servers and workstations.
Performing database backups and recovery operations to ensure data availability and integrity.
Monitoring database performance and capacity to ensure optimal performance and scalability.
Troubleshooting and resolving database issues and errors.
Developing and implementing database maintenance security policies and procedures to ensure data confidentiality and integrity.
Designing and implementing database maintenance plans including backup and recovery strategies database optimization and performance tuning.
Managing database objects including tables indexes and views to ensure data consistency and availability.
Participating in database and system architecture design and planning activities.
Documenting database configuration maintenance and troubleshooting procedures.
Installing configuring and upgrading Oracle APEX applications.
Developing and delivering training programs to existing team members on database administration including installation configuration and maintenance.
Conducting knowledge transfer sessions with team members to ensure that critical information is shared and retained within the team.
Requirements / Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: A bachelors degree or equivalent in computer science information systems mathematics engineering or other related field and two years of experience education or training in coding computer applications; programming experience can be substituted for education on a year for year basis one year of which as a project coordinator leader or supervisor.
Preferred Qualifications: At least six years of education/work experience involving relational database; preference given for Oracle database administration.
Other: Regular and reliable attendance is required. Ideal candidate will possess knowledge of analytical problemsolving; attention to detail; excellent communication skills; ability to diagnose and troubleshoot database errors; ability to explain complex ideas in simple terms; good multitasking abilities; experience with Oracle Database; experience with creating good technical documentation and knowledge of logical and physical database design and theories.
