JOB OVERVIEW
The Chef at Mamaqtuq Restaurant is primarily responsible for crafting exceptional culinary experiences by creating innovative and appealing menus. This role focuses on the art of cooking preparation and presentation of dishes to ensure they meet the high standards of quality and taste expected by our patrons. The Chef collaborates closely with the Kitchen Manager to ensure seamless kitchen operations and maintains adherence to food safety standards. Additionally the Chef plays a key role in mentoring and inspiring kitchen staff fostering a creative and positive environment. This position is crucial in driving the culinary excellence and reputation of Mamaqtuq Restaurant making every dining experience memorable.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Develop diverse menus that cater to guest preferences while adhering to budgetary constraints.
- Oversee the preparation process to ensure all meals are executed to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
- Ensure all kitchen operations comply with food safety regulations and maintain high sanitation standards in all preparation and storage areas.
- Monitor kitchen inventory and work closely with the Restaurant Manager to place timely food orders aiming to minimize waste through efficient stock management.
- Work alongside the Restaurant Manager to discuss pricing strategies menu adjustments and operational enhancements.
- Assist in maintaining cost reports and managing kitchen expenses to ensure alignment with the restaurants financial goals.
- Engage in regular training sessions to enhance team skills and promote a positive and productive kitchen environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience as a Chef with a background in diverse culinary settings preferred.
- Certification or formal training in culinary arts and food safety highly valued.
- Proven ability to lead and inspire a team in a highpaced environment.
- Skilled in managing budget constraints and inventory processes.
- Strong capability in crafting and executing menus that satisfy a wide range of tastes.
