Internship Program
At Five9 we are committed to providing an exceptional experience for our interns. We tailor our program to provide participants with real impactful work contributing directly to the continued success of Five9. Through our Speaker Series Intern Buddies Employee Resource Groups and other events youll have the opportunity to meet and learn from some of the best in the business.
This is a fulltime paid internship based out of our headquarters in San Ramon CA. This role is hybrid. 3 days a week (M W TH) in office is required. The program runs 11 weeks with the opportunity to start in early or midJune.

I have always been very careeroriented and this summer Ive realized how important it is to also focus on other aspects of my life. Meeting different employees at Five9 and hearing their career trajectory made me realize that everything will work out eventually and to take my time exploring my interests. However that doesnt mean I will halt all career goals. I plan to continue networking with industry professionals and building my knowledge on using different data analytics tools. Responsibilities
- The intern will enhance deployment efficiency by templating common requirements into builds that can be reused following closely under the manager of the U.S. West team.
- Learn and utilize Five9 IVA Studio. It is the design time environment where speech applications are implemented. Primarily it is a diagrambased tool which hooks into various thirdparty services for natural language understanding speech to text text to speech and summarization.
- The position might also work to fill in knowledge gaps of various unexplored areas of recent product releases write knowledge articles or build training.
Qualifications
- Rising college senior or above pursuing an undergrad degree in Computer Science Information Technology Engineering or a related technical discipline.*
- Must be able to work out of the San Ramon CA headquarters this summer.
- Selfstarter possessing excellent time management skills. Can execute on a given set of steps with limited supervision.
- Excellent English verbal and written skills.
- Ability to learn new skills quickly and digest new product features without assistance.
- Passion for continuous personal improvement both technically and professionally.
- Previous experience with voicebased applications of any kind a plus.
*Note this role will not include significant programming (custom development) efforts.
