We are a dynamic hybrid workplace environment that requires at least 2 days a week in the office.

Position Summary:
Manages one or more functional units within the Cash Services Department and may assume responsibility for thedepartment in the Managers absence. Ensures that currency/coin inventory needs of financial institutions and publiccitizens are met during normal operations and times of crisis. Ensures operational compliance with Treasury regulations andinternal governance/audit requirements in a highly controlled valuables handling environment and responsible for billionsof dollars in assets daily. Develops trains counsels and evaluates operational staff. Addresses operational problems byidentifying and implementing viable resolutions. Maintains extensive technical knowledge and ensures proper application of
all Cash governing procedures. Supports implementation of policy and demonstrates critical thinking and adaptability/agility tomeet continuous pace of change. Performs and/or directs procedural and financial audits of operating units and recommendsdevelops and implements programs to enhance quality productivity spend stewardship and operational resiliency. Mayparticipate in projects or workgroups to advance department Branch District or Federal Reserve System initiatives andgoals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manages the operations of the Cash Services Department under the direction of the Cash Services Manager and mayassume responsibility for the department in absence of the Manager. Recommends develops and implements programsto improve quality productivity and operational resiliency. Monitors department performance in relation toestablished operational measures. Reviews daily and monthly operational reporting to ensure accuracy andcompliance with operational and business resiliency metrics. Performs and/or directs relevant operational studiesand data analyses. Addresses operational problems by identifying and implementing viable resolutions.
  • Develops and supervises personnel at various levels. Directs and/or conducts training in operational procedures andcontrols to enhance performance and ensure strict compliance with all applicable regulatory guidelines. Preparesand administers thoughtful performance evaluations. Counsels/coaches staff on performance and personnel relatedmatters. Provides input for salary actions and recognition for employees. Proposes and/or administers disciplinaryaction as needed.
  • Contributes to the development of department goals objectives and programs and provides input into thedepartments annual operating budget. Monitors and approves department expenses.
  • Provides technical assistance to staff and field engineers. Performs testing of highly technical processing equipmentto ensure conformity with all applicable Treasury Board of Governors Federal Reserve System and Districtregulatory policies and procedures. Coordinates equipment maintenance/repair with field engineers and otheroutside contractors. Performs supervisory duties as prescribed in the Treasury Currency Operations Manual. (HighSpeed Unit)
  • Reviews and tests procedures and controls to ensure accurate unit audits. Monitors compliance with controlsstandards and operational guidelines. Performs and/or directs procedural and financial audits of operating unitsoffsite coin terminals strategic inventory locations custodial inventory sites and outsourced depots to ensuredeficiencies are corrected in a timely manner. Ensures staff members review controls and procedures and receiveadequate training. Ensures procedure manuals are maintained in current status. Compiles and reviews statisticaldata for the Difference Trend Analysis.
  • Assists in management oversight responsibilities for offsite Bank assets and operations. Represents the departmentto depository institutions and other groups. Provides excellent customer service through effective communicationwith financial institutions regarding problem issues and subsequent solutions. Prepares and distributes operationsbulletins and procedures. Oversees complex automated storage and retrieval system (some offices) requires solidunderstanding of proprietary software and operation to resolve problems.

Education: High School Diploma or GED; Associate degree preferred

Experience: 25 years of demonstrated leadership in a matrix environment preferred
