The Strategic Finance team is responsible for providing datadriven insights to inform strategic financial and operational decisionmaking across the company. Were seeking a Strategic Finance Manager to partner with the Commerce Business Unit which encompasses the products and services that power restaurants frontofhouse experience such as Toasts Point of Sale (POS) and to drive broader R&D FP&A initiatives. In this highimpact role youll partner closely with business leaders and crossfunctional stakeholders to deliver strategic insights drive business planning and support decisionmaking.
About this roll* (Responsibilities)
- Serve as a strategic thought partner to senior leaders across Commerce and R&D organizations helping to guide investment and resourcing decisions in a fastpaced environment.
- Facilitate executive leadership decision making by building and translating robust financial models into actionable operational recommendations.
- Drive strategic initiatives through a combination of business partnering analytical insight and project management.
- Deliver monthly/quarterly quantitative and qualitative analysis of financial results including variances to plan ensuring key issues risks and business drivers are understood and highlighted.
- Support the annual planning and longrange planning processes for R&D incorporating a deep understanding of product roadmaps team structures and scaling needs.
- Proactively identify trends and areas of opportunity surfacing insights that influence crossfunctional strategic and operational decisions.
- Collaborate across all levels of the organization by building strong crossfunctional relationships and developing a deep understanding of Toasts business model including unit economics product and market strategies competitive context and internal processes
Do you have the right ingredients* (Requirements)
- Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Economics or related field
- 6 years of experience in Strategic Finance or FP&A roles
- Comfortable working crossfunctionally communicating complex financial information to nonfinance audiences
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills. Ability to distill complex analyses into structured outputs used by teams throughout the company to size opportunities and build business cases for pursuing new initiatives
- Effective communication and project management skills; highly organized independent and selfmotivated with ability to and present to all levels of management
- Ability to think creatively and critically and thrive in a dynamic and often ambiguous work environment
Special Sauce* (Nice to Haves)
- Public company Strategic Finance background
- SaaS industry experience a plus
- Working knowledge of Adaptive Netsuite and Zip
- Working Knowledge of SQL or experience with BI tools
