A Physical Therapist Assistant is a licensed healthcare professional who works under the supervision of a physical therapist to help patients improve their mobility and functional abilities. They provide handson treatment assist with therapeutic exercises and support patients in their recovery process.
Knowledge normally acquired in the first two or three years in college technical or vocational school with an Associates degree in Physical Therapist Assistant from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE); six months to one year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in administering physical therapy treatments; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant by the State of Michigan.

Work hours vary as necessary to accommodate clinic operations.
The job requires significant physical effort and involves performing stretching/resistance exercises for patients lifting patients from wheel chairs moving equipment demonstrating exercises 26 to 75 of the time.
Exposure to human blood serum and other body fluids; and materials covered under Universal Precautions; TB risk or work within three 3 feet of patients in a health care setting; wear a respirator.
