QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
A Ph.D. in Anthropology or closely related discipline is preferred for the position.
The ideal candidate will have:
Teaching experience at the undergraduate level.
Positiveteaching evaluations that also reflect enthusiastic and innovative instruction.
An active researchagenda with evidence of research potential and/or productivity.
A strong desire to engage incollaborative research with undergraduates.
A willingness to potentially teach an Intellectual Discovery Seminar on a topic of the candidates choice.
The teaching load is threethree 4 credit hour courses in the fall and spring semesters and will typically include at least one section of Introduction to Anthropology. We are especially interested in candidates whose primary area of specialization in Medical Anthropology. Secondary areas of interest are open but there are preferences for candidates who can teach courses on: different healthcare outcomes or media analysis. Promotion is possible it would be connected to research and annual reviews.
