Electrical Test Engineer Hardware Test Engineering

Amazon Robotics is seeking a talented and motivated Electrical test Engineer who will be part of the Hardware Test Engineering team focused on next generation robotic system design. The electrical test engineer will plan design execute and document testing of electrical systems and components. This will include the design of fixtures and the use of scripting to automate test to maximize efficiency. You will be responsible for leading and developing test strategies and solutions for new products with a focus on automation cycle time reduction and improving product quality.

Key job responsibilities
You will work with hardware development regulatory & compliance program management and other hardware test team members. The ideal candidate will draw upon previous electrical test engineer experience critical thinking and problem solving skills and a passion for creating reliable and maintainable systems. The candidate should be open to new challenges strong at multitasking innovative creative selfdirected and a great team player. Candidate should drive continuous process improvement and collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams to solve problems and implement new solutions.

A day in the life
Meeting with crossfunctional teams to understand the business needs for your project reviewing and providing feedback on requirements and developing test plans to verify and validate adherence to said requirements.
Working with other Test Engineers Hardware and Software developers regarding tools and techniques required for testing.
Developing test fixtures documentation and test reports.

About the team
The Hardware Test Engineering team is responsible for testing any new prototype/preproduction hardware designs within Amazons robotic solutions. We validate that any design meets our high standards for quality efficiency and most of all safety.

BS degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
Experience with prototyping and implementation
4 years of test development engineering experience
Experience as lead on medium to large sized projects
Knowledge of test equipment and test fixture design.
Demonstrated expertise with test strategy development and implementation.
Bench top electrical debug tool experience as well as electrical design of test circuitry is critical
Experience with Linux operating system

Experience in gathering test requirements to create detailed test plans and defining quality metrics to measure product quality
Basic scripting experience in a highlevel programming language such as Python Matlab or LabVIEW
Experience with electric motors and motor test methodology
Experience in circuit level debug to the component level.
Schematic capture tool experience with a desire to design lowlevel interface boards for test fixtures.
Knowledge of Industrial power and automation is a plus
Experience decomposing hardware requirements into test cases.
Uses a strong analytical approach to problem solving.
