Job Description
This is a remote position.
Schedule
- 7:00 AM 4:00 PM PST or 8:00 AM 5:00 PM PST 10:00 PM 7:00 AM or 11:00 PM 8:00 AM PHT) with an hour unpaid lunch break
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced bookkeeper to oversee our financial operations manage cash balances handle payroll pay vendors and ensure seamless settlements to merchants. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in payments and financial management within a startup environment. Experience with transaction reconciliation is essential and familiarity with crypto transactions is a strong plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Cash Management: Monitor and manage daily cash balances ensuring sufficient liquidity for operational needs.
- Payroll Management: Process payroll accurately and on time including benefits bonuses and tax withholdings.
- Vendor Payments: Manage and execute timely payments to vendors ensuring proper documentation and approvals.
- Merchant Settlements: Oversee the settlement process for merchants ensuring timely and accurate payouts in fiat and stablecoins and potentially cryptocurrencies.
- Transaction Reconciliation: Perform daily and monthly transaction reconciliations to ensure accuracy across bank accounts payment gateways and ledgers.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare financial reports including cash flow statements and forecasts to support decisionmaking.
- Compliance: Ensure all financial activities adhere to regulatory standards including payroll compliance and tax obligations.
- Crossfunctional Collaboration: Work closely with the accounting legal and product teams to streamline financial processes and ensure operational efficiency.
- Process Improvement: Continuously assess and improve financial processes to increase accuracy efficiency and scalability.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 35 years of experience in a finance role preferably within a startup or fastpaced environment.
- Payments Experience: Familiarity with payments processing vendor management and transaction reconciliation.
- Tech Skills: Proficiency with financial software (e.g. QuickBooks NetSuite) and Excel. Experience with payment gateways and crypto wallets is a plus.
- Attention to Detail:Strong analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail in financial management.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly.
- Startup Mindset: Ability to thrive in a dynamic fastpaced startup environment with a handson approach to solving problems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in handling crypto transactions or settlements is a plus
- Understanding of blockchain technology and how it applies to payments and settlements
- Previous experience in a highgrowth startup environment
