TPF Recruitment Kent s leading specialist in accountancy practice recruitment is working with a fantastic bookkeeping practice near Ashford to recruit an Accountancy Practice Bookkeeper.
This is a brilliant opportunity to join a friendly supportive team in a well-established firm with a great local reputation.
- Client Bookkeeping - Manage day-to-day bookkeeping for a varied portfolio of clients. Accurately record financial transactions including sales purchases receipts and payments.
- Accounts Preparation - Support the preparation of accounts up to trial balance ensuring accuracy and compliance with the relevant accounting standards.
- Bank Reconciliation - Carry out regular bank reconciliations to keep clients financial statements accurate and up to date.
- VAT Returns - Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with HMRC deadlines and regulations.
- Management Reports - Produce clear and informative management reports and financial statements to help clients understand their business performance.
- Software Proficiency - Work confidently with accounting software such as Sage QuickBooks Xero and Excel to maintain clients financial records efficiently.
- Client Interaction - Maintain regular communication with clients to answer queries provide updates and deliver great service.
- Team Collaboration - Be part of a collaborative and supportive team environment working alongside other experienced bookkeepers.
Requirements
Senior Accountancy Practice bookkeeper Ashford
- Experience -You ll have proven experience in a bookkeeping role within an accountancy practice with a solid understanding of day-to-day bookkeeping processes.
- Qualifications - Ideally part-qualified or qualified by experience with a strong foundation in accountancy principles.
- Skills - Confident using accounting software such as Sage QuickBooks and Xero along with strong Excel skills. You ll have excellent attention to detail and be highly organised in your approach.
- Team Player - A collaborative attitude is key. You ll enjoy working as part of a team sharing knowledge and supporting your colleagues.
- Proactive Mindset- You ll be proactive able to manage your own workload and prioritise effectively across multiple clients and deadlines.

You may be AAT-qualified or someone who has developed your career through hands-on experience and is looking to further build on this in a practical role. You must have experience in bookkeeping and preparing VAT returns within an accountancy practice of any size. You should have at least two years, preferably more, of experience in these areas within an accountancy practice environment.
