Job Description

Join our innovative Alexa Proactive team and shape the future of conversational AI! Youll develop novel algorithms for multimodal systems directly impacting millions of customers through vision and language technology.

At Amazon were passionate about pushing the boundaries of AI and natural language processing. As an SDE II on the Alexa Proactive team within the GENIE organization youll have the opportunity to work on exciting projects that combine Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI to create more intuitive and responsive conversational experiences.

In this role youll collaborate with a diverse team of experts to develop novel algorithms and modeling techniques that advance the state of the art in multimodal systems. Youll leverage Amazons vast data resources and computing power to accelerate development and drive innovation. Your contributions will help define our overall strategy from data enrichment and model optimization to system architecture and best practices.

Key job responsibilities
Design and implement innovative algorithms for conversational multimodal systems
Collaborate on strategy for data enrichment model optimization and evaluation
Drive system architecture decisions and establish best practices
Work with crossfunctional teams to integrate new features into Alexa products
Contribute to the development of largescale distributed systems

A day in the life
Your typical day might involve brainstorming new approaches to improve Alexas multimodal capabilities coding and testing algorithms analyzing data to refine models and collaborating with team members to solve complex technical challenges. Youll also participate in code reviews mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical discussions that shape the future of our products.

About the team
The Alexa Proactive team is a dynamic group of engineers researchers and product managers dedicated to enhancing Alexas ability to understand and respond to user needs proactively. 3 years of noninternship professional software development experience
2 years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language

3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent
