What will you do in this position
In November 2024 the WFP Executive Board approved the interim Country Strategic Plan (iCSP) for WFP Ukraine for. Strategic Outcome 2 (SO2 focuses on implementing selfreliance and food systems programming in Ukraine including links to assistance at the household and community level after humanitarian mine action. As part of its efforts to start transitioning from emergency to recovery and resiliencebuilding interventions WFP is looking for a Programme Associate (Resilience and Food Systems) who can support daytoday operations for the implementation of the livelihoods and local food systems portfolio.
The incumbent will support the implementation of WFP Ukraines selfreliance and quick impact programme portfolio (SO2. This role involves assisting field offices and communities in designing and implementing initiatives that target rural families foodrelated enterprises (e.g. bakeries) community assets and market access opportunities for smallscale farmers in frontline oblasts. The incumbent will help manage operational partnerships conduct trainings and ensure the standardization and adoption of tools by cooperating partners to maintain program quality.
Why work with WFP Ukraine
The war in Ukraine has had drastic consequences both for people inside the country and for those around the world who depend on its food supplies. The war has caused immense suffering for civilians displaced families and disrupted supply chains and food production. It has caused one of the fastest forced population movements since the Second World War. Close to 6 million Ukrainians are still living as refugees across Europe and almost 3.3 million are internally displaced. Many have lost their homes and livelihoods. As food production and supply lines are disrupted by fighting many families in the east and south of Ukraine do not have reliable access to nutritious food.
WFP uses a combination of food and cash assistance to support communities affected by the war. This includes working with local partners to distribute food boxes in areas near the frontline and providing cash transfers in locations where people have access to banks and markets to buy food. Since March 2022 WFP has distributed food and cash assistance equivalent to 3.01 billion meals to people displaced and affected by the war.

Education: Completion of secondary school education. A postsecondary education or University degree in Agribusiness Development Food Systems Economics or a related field.
Experience: Minimum6years ofprogressively responsible relevant work experience inhumanitarian or development assistance or similarfield. Proficiency in Excel.
Experience in the commercial/banking sector including monitoring and reporting on grants provided to individuals and businesses in Ukraine is desirable.
Postsecondary education can compensate for some years of experience. For example you will be considered eligible if you have:
Three 3 years of work experience in combination with a Masters Degree;
Four 4 years of work experience in combination with a Bachelors Degree.
Knowledge & Skills:
Good command of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Strong analytical negotiation and problemsolving skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Language: Fluency (level C) in both in English and Ukrainian languages.
