• Remuneration: $42.2 to $48.85 per hour (depending on experience)
• Location: TBC (depending on candidates location and office availability)
• Employment Type: Permanent Fulltime. Monday Friday 8:30am 4:36pm with one 11:30am 7:36pm shift each week)

The Position

We are seeking an individual with a strong passion and drive to engage and provide counselling support to adults and young people on an individual basis as well as in a group settings. The successful candidates will provide a positive representation of the HelpingMinds brand while establishing and fostering close working links with relevant service providers in the area.

The counselling supports for this position will be mostly phone sessions.

Responsibilities of the role include (not limited to):

• Provide a counselling service to young people 018 at risk of developing mental health issues and adult carers including Aboriginal and culturally and linguistically diverse (CaLD) carers.
• Employ both a brief intervention model for working with clients as well as therapeutic interventions where appropriate for the support HelpingMinds offers;
• Establish selfhelp Support Groups for Carers and provide support to the group once it is established;
• Develop wellbeing care plans with clients and utilising a strengthsbased approach discuss the issues and impact of mental health and apply goal setting and identifying support networks

You will have at least 3 years experience in a similar role and you will enjoy doing over the phone supports. You are able to work one evening shift per week 11:30am to 7:36pm) with all other days 8:30am to 4:36pm.

Minimum qualifications:

• Tertiary Degree in Counselling Psychology or Social Work
• Current Drivers License
• Proof of Australian Working Rights
• Accredited with a relevant Australian Professional Association; Australian Counselling Association Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia Australian Association of Social Workers or a Provisional Psychologist

You will also either have or be willing to obtain the following:

• National Police Clearance (within 6 months)
• Working with Children Card
• Current First Aid Certificate
