The Department of Linguistics and Cognitive Science at Pomona College invites applications for a oneyear fulltime Visiting Assistant Professor in cognitive science beginning Fall 2025. Applicants from any area of specialization within cognitive science are welcome to apply. The position has a teaching load of five courses over two semesters that contribute to the interdisciplinary Cognitive Science major including Introduction to Cognitive Science and other courses that utilize the successful candidates areas of expertise. For more information about the department please see our website College is the founding member of the Claremont Colleges (Claremont McKenna Harvey Mudd Pitzer Pomona and Scripps) liberal arts colleges located 35 miles east of downtown Los Angeles. Pomona College and the Linguistics and Cognitive Science Department support equal access to higher education. Of the students admitted into the class of 2024 58.8 selfidentify as domestic students of color 13.6 international and 20.7 are first generation college students. The successful candidate will have the ability to teach and mentor exceptional students of diverse backgroundsutilizing pedagogical practices that are rigorous inclusive and which promote academic equity.
