The National Resource Center for Youth Services (NRCYS) at the University of Oklahoma (OU) has been improving the effectiveness of human services for over 50 years. NRCYS provides training and technical assistance to programs in Oklahoma and nationally. Specializing in training and consultation NRCYS is a leader in youth service philosophy best practices and youth engagement.
Position Summary
This position will oversee the development and delivery of training conduct assigned NRCYS training as needed and provide consultation and technical assistance services to individuals and organizations to strengthen their ability to best serve children youth and families. This includes but is not limited to training collaborative partnerships planning and facilitation of meetings and conferences program assessment and documentation and data collection analysis and reporting. Supervise and develop staff as assigned to oversee the implementation of assigned projects training and programs. A significant focus of this position will be meeting the critical tasks associated with the Resource Family Training (RFT) Program through a sponsored program agreement with the State of Oklahoma Department of Human Services (OKDHS) to provide foundational training to foster kinship and adoptive parents.
Duties
- Supervise staff as assigned to oversee the programs implementation. Communicate clearly and directly with assigned staff concerning performance expectations productivity and accountability in implementing projects and with staff a minimum of two times per month.
- Evaluate and develop training staff including contracted trainers.
- Manage the daytoday administrative and programmatic activities for assigned projects and programs.
- Communicate current policy and procedure to staff through the agency individual team meetings and scheduled training.
- Plan and attend internal and external meetings including but not limited to NRCYS Leadership Team Meetings NRCYS Staff Meetings Capacity Building Meetings Contract/Project Meetings with funders and University meetings as needed.
- Plan and facilitate activities training and capacitybuilding technical assistance that support NRCYSs state and national initiatives.
- Create and develop best practice tools activities and resources to support service delivery and understanding.
- Communicate collaborate and plan with contractors other programs and stakeholders through meetings telephone and email correspondence on current trends best practices and program development.
- Collect and analyze data. Write reports. Utilize data to inform decisionmaking to benefit specific projects programs and agency initiatives
- Monitor and enhance the knowledge base on national and other states best practice initiatives to make informed decisions and recommendations regarding the ongoing management and improvement of projects programs and agency initiatives.
- Uphold safeguard and engage in activities that support the Universitys and NRCYSs vision mission values and core principles.
Required Education: Bachelors Degree AND:
- 18 months of experience working in an educational setting.
Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelors degree for a total of 66 months of related experience.18 months of experience working in an educational setting.
Department Preferences for Education and Experience:
Bachelors or masters degree in social work psychology human services or a closely related field AND
- Combined Experience: 2448 months in any of the following:
- Youth work (children welfare child/youth/family services juvenile justice education treatment services).
- Understanding service systems (mental health communitybased services child welfare education etc..
- Training presentation and group facilitation.
- Technical assistance and consultation.
- Event planning and coordination.
- Youth development and leadership activities.
- Traumaresponsive service provision.
- Services to foster healthy youth development.
- Services to foster healthy life span development.
- Supporting individuals who play a role in facilitating the successful transition of children and youth into adulthood.
- Evidencebased and researchinformed practices.
- Staff supervision.
- Project management.
- Professional experience working with public sector or state government agencies.
- Professional experience in instructional design and/or training development including applying adult learning theory to develop workshop content training modules and course curricula.
- Experience with the development and evaluation of trainers.
- Experience training and facilitating across various modalities including virtual inperson and blended learning formats. Experience collaborating with public and private child welfare and/or child and youthserving organizations.
- Knowledge regarding environmental and relational permanency.
- Data collection and management.
- Regional or national conference planning and/or workshop presentation.
- National child welfare federal legislation practices policies and initiatives.
- Program assessment and evaluation.

Supervision:
Supervise a minimum of three to five staff. Manage and oversee programs and projects for planning and facilitating activities training and capacitybuilding technical assistance supporting state and national NRCYS initiatives.
