Job Description

Manager III Risk Management WW Executive Escalations

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced professional to join our Risk Mitigation Escalations Reduction and Quality Assurance (REsQ) organization as a Manager III within the Worldwide Executive Escalations division. This critical role leads Amazons strategic response to highpriority Store incidents involving complex abuse patterns fraud schemes and policy enforcement challenges. You will manage specialized teams handling approximately 200 highstakes executive cases annually impacting over $1.1B in highvalue listings and serving 220K customers selling partners and brands worldwide. The role represents a unique opportunity to shape risk management practices while protecting Amazons marketplace integrity through datadriven decisionmaking and strategic stakeholder management.

Key Responsibilities:

Investigation Leadership & Quality:
As the investigation leader you will guide teams in utilizing a comprehensive holistic investigation framework employing a 20point protocol for thorough evaluation of seller behavior and intent. Youll oversee complex multifactor risk assessments incorporating account history supply chain verification and pattern analysis while maintaining 98 holistic investigation decision accuracy and meeting strict SLA requirements for VP/Directorlevel escalations. A key aspect of your role will be driving the adoption and optimization of advanced investigation tools to continuously improve efficiency and accuracy.

Strategic Program Management:
In this capacity you will work across 140 global program teams to implement balanced enforcement approaches. Your role involves developing and executing graduated enforcement strategies that combine zerotolerance policies for intentional abuse with appropriate treatments for policy misunderstandings. You will be responsible for establishing and monitoring systemic preventative actions to reduce future escalations while leading continuous improvement initiatives based on datadriven insights and trend analysis.

Stakeholder Management & Communication:
Your success will depend on building and maintaining strategic relationships with VP and Directorlevel stakeholders across the organization. You will be responsible for translating complex abuse patterns and technical findings into compelling business narratives driving influence across program teams without direct authority and facilitating highstakes discussions to achieve alignment on controversial decisions.

Team Development & Leadership:
As a people leader you will focus on building and mentoring highperforming teams capable of handling complex investigations. This includes creating and maintaining effective onboarding and training programs fostering a culture of innovation accountability and excellence and driving performance through clear goalsetting and regular feedback.

Qualifications:

Experience & Education:
The ideal candidate brings 4 years of experience in risk management investigations or related fields complemented by at least 2 years of people management experience leading complex teams. A Bachelors degree in Business Engineering or related field is required along with a demonstrated track record of driving results through influence and collaboration. A Masters degree is preferred.

Technical & Analytical Skills:
We seek strong analytical capabilities with experience in datadriven decisionmaking supported by proficiency in investigation methodologies and risk assessment frameworks. The role requires demonstrated experience with process improvement and program management along with a solid understanding of ecommerce platforms and associated risk vectors. Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles / Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements is highly desirable.

Leadership & Communication:
Success in this role demands excellent stakeholder management and relationshipbuilding abilities coupled with strong written and verbal communication skills. You should have proven ability to navigate ambiguous situations and drive resolution along with experience managing complex crossfunctional initiatives. Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification is preferred.

Impact & Scope:
This role serves as a critical link between executive leadership and operational teams directly influencing Amazons risk management strategy and marketplace integrity. Youll balance competing priorities including seller experience (SX) customer experience (CX) brand experience (BX) and costtoserve metrics while operating with limited resources. Success requires navigating complex organizational dynamics influencing product roadmaps without direct authority and maintaining robust governance mechanisms. Your team represents Executive leadership worldwide advocating for selling partners brands and customers among business policy and technology teams.

Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
5 years of experience delivering cross functional projects
5 years of experience in program or project management
5 years of experience working cross functionally with tech and nontech teams
Bachelors degree required.
5 years of relevant experience in Project Management.
5 years managing global stakeholders in crossfunctional projects.
Exceptional written verbal and interpersonal communication skills; proven ability to guide crossfunctional teams through influence versus direct management.
Ability to deal with ambiguity in a fastpaced environment where not all processes and procedures are clearly defined. Agility to change directions quickly as needed.
Ability to diagnose problems identify root causes and develop and drive appropriate solutions.
Positive proactive and always able to exercise great judgment.
Strong business and HR acumen including strong problem solving skills critical thinking and selfinitiative.
Ability to operate simultaneously and effectively in both tactical and strategic mode.

Experience with ecommerce related processes and programs.
Certified Project/Program Management credentials.
Experience leading global program initiatives and/or process improvement efforts.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills; strong bias towards databased decision making and strength with financial and operational analysis.
