Are you excited by the challenge of harnessing employee voices across the globe The Survey Science team in PXT Central Science are seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer with a passion for understanding complex spaces and an eye for detail to own Business Intelligence solutions focused on employee listening.
You will work cross functionally between multiple software teams science teams and business stakeholders to build business intelligence solutions surfacing employee insights using multiple data sources. You will be a key player in modelling listening data for analytics science and product use cases defining new metrics and influencing our products and programs to ensure were delivering success in the employee listening space. You will be directly responsible for scaling data access developing reproducible analysis and scalable reporting identifying process improvement opportunities and developing selfservice tools to allow stakeholders and customers to make informed decisions quickly.
The ideal candidate for this role will have an Operational Excellence mindset high technical acumen and a track record for using automation to drive change. You will thrive on ambiguity problem solving and have a demonstrated ability to spot and pursue signals in noisy data.
Key job responsibilities
Assist in operationalizing econometric and statistical models
Perform model refreshes or updates to analyses as needed
Work collaboratively with others spanning multiple technical disciplines to assist in the design and implementation of analysis to answer challenging business questions
Interpret and communicate results to external customers
Drive operational excellence for data ingestion transformation and publication to ensure confidence in the systems we build
Aggregate and analyze data pulled from disparate sources (HR Finance or other business systems) and related industry and external benchmarks; provide insights and a point of view on analysis and recommendations
Tune query performance using profiling tools and SQL
Assist in the design and delivery of automated scalable analysis and reports to stakeholders
Continually improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes automating or simplifying selfservice support for secondary datasets
Report results in a manner which is both statistically rigorous and compellingly relevant
About the team
The Central Science Team within Amazons People Experience and Technology org (PXTCS) uses economics behavioral science statistics machine learning and user research to proactively identify mechanisms and process improvements which simultaneously improve Amazon and the lives wellbeing and the value of work to Amazonians. We are an interdisciplinary team which combines the talents of science research design and engineering to develop and deliver solutions that measurably achieve this goal.
3 years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift Oracle NoSQL etc. experience
Experience with data visualization using Tableau Quicksight or similar tools
Experience with data modeling warehousing and building ETL pipelines
Experience developing and presenting recommendations of new metrics allowing better understanding of the performance of the business
Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R SAS and Matlab
Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2 DynamoDB S3 and Redshift
Experience in data mining ETL etc. and using databases in a business environment with largescale complex datasets
Experience working as a BIE in a technology company
Working with largescale survey data

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
