Job Description

Are you passionate about teaching and inspiring students in mathematics

DN Colleges Group is looking for a dedicated and experienced Maths Lecturer to join our team. This role involves teaching GCSE and Functional Skills Maths on a range of further education courses contributing to curriculum development and ensuring the achievement of learning and teaching goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Maths GCSE and Functional Skills Maths on various further education courses.
  • Develop specific subject areas prepare learning materials and mark student assignments.
  • Contribute to the management of learning programmes including quality assurance and student guidance.
  • Coordinate course teams and ensure effective delivery of curriculum and timetabling.
  • Manage the classroom environment and assess students to meet their individual learning needs.
  • Recruit and select students for relevant programmes and meet enrolment targets.
  • Participate in the departmental annual SelfAssessment Report (SAR) and other quality assurance processes.
  • Undertake mandatory and jobspecific training and contribute to personal development.

Essential Criteria

  • Appropriate teaching qualification or substantial industrial experience (or working towards a teaching qualification).
  • Relevant subject expertise in mathematics.
  • Relevant degree or equivalent professional qualification at level 3 in/associated with mathematics.
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years experience in a lecturing or training role within the Further and Higher Education sector.
  • GCSEs 49/AC or equivalent in Mathematics and English.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience of delivering GCSE Maths to resit students in an FE setting within the UK.
  • Experience of delivering Functional Skills Maths at Entry level.
  • Knowledge and experience of innovative learning and teaching techniques.
  • Understanding of internal quality processes and procedures.
