Are you passionate about teaching and inspiring students in mathematics
DN Colleges Group is looking for a dedicated and experienced Maths Lecturer to join our team. This role involves teaching GCSE and Functional Skills Maths on a range of further education courses contributing to curriculum development and ensuring the achievement of learning and teaching goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Maths GCSE and Functional Skills Maths on various further education courses.
- Develop specific subject areas prepare learning materials and mark student assignments.
- Contribute to the management of learning programmes including quality assurance and student guidance.
- Coordinate course teams and ensure effective delivery of curriculum and timetabling.
- Manage the classroom environment and assess students to meet their individual learning needs.
- Recruit and select students for relevant programmes and meet enrolment targets.
- Participate in the departmental annual SelfAssessment Report (SAR) and other quality assurance processes.
- Undertake mandatory and jobspecific training and contribute to personal development.
Essential Criteria
- Appropriate teaching qualification or substantial industrial experience (or working towards a teaching qualification).
- Relevant subject expertise in mathematics.
- Relevant degree or equivalent professional qualification at level 3 in/associated with mathematics.
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years experience in a lecturing or training role within the Further and Higher Education sector.
- GCSEs 49/AC or equivalent in Mathematics and English.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience of delivering GCSE Maths to resit students in an FE setting within the UK.
- Experience of delivering Functional Skills Maths at Entry level.
- Knowledge and experience of innovative learning and teaching techniques.
- Understanding of internal quality processes and procedures.
