The pay range is $71000.00 $128000.00

Working within Tax your mission will be to drive valueadded work and support our core retail business goals. Our tax team focuses on all aspects of tax reporting including enhancing productivity and efficiency of core compliance through process and technology monitoring tax risk and opportunities across all tax disciplines engaging and educating Finance and the broader organization regarding tax considerations and prioritizing team resources to support key work streams.

As a Tax Manager in Sales Tax you will be responsible for taxability research and analysis of Targets operations and assist with the maintenance of Targets retail tax rates and item taxability. You will leverage your curiosity and passion for indirect tax to ensure the accuracy of the sales tax and fees collected on sales to Guests as well as purchases made by Target.

As a Tax Manager you will leverage your tax expertise problem solving skills and business operational knowledge while working on a wide range of strategic priorities. You will research state and local laws to determine item taxability and identify changes to Targets tax codes for Target and Targets online marketplace. You will also leverage various tools to assign the proper tax code to items. The Tax Manager will create documentation to sustain Targets tax positions and support the Sales Tax team in audit and compliance matters. The Tax manager will also team with internal and external partners to gather data and verify research to get the correct answer for Target and its Guests this role you will foster your personal development by remaining current with tax law changes industry trends emerging risks and gain unique experiences supporting a meaningful career. Job duties may change at any time due to business needs.

About you:

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Targets needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team members core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually depending upon what your role team and tasks require for that day.
