JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Department of Statistics at The Pennsylvania State University invites applications for one tenuretrack Assistant Professor position. We are open to candidates in all specialties within special interest are candidates with expertise in machine learning deep learning artificial intelligence and methods for massive data but candidates in all other areas of statistics will also receive full consideration. Faculty are expected to demonstrate excellence in research teaching and contributing to a positive and inclusive climate.
Education:
Candidates at the Assistant Professor level should have a Ph.D. in Statistics or a closely related field by the employment start date.
Penn State is located in the center of Pennsylvania in a valley surrounded by the Appalachian Mountains and state forestland. The adjoining town of State College combines many amenities typically found in large metropolitan areas with the benefits of a university town boasting a highly educated population and excellent schools and services.
