University Health Services (UHS) is a unit within the Division of Student Services and Enrollment Management and is a nationally accredited (AAAHC) outpatient clinic providing primary care to students at the University of Oregon. All staff are required to uphold the values of the UHS.
This position works in support of the University Health Services mission and vision and is consistent with UO policy. Some aspects of this position may be completed in collaboration with other University departments.
Relief Dentist:
The purpose of this position is to serve as the Relief Dentist for the UHC Dental Health Clinic in the absence of the university dentist.
The Relief Dentist provides preventive and restorative dental services patient education and dental treatment in support of the UHC and the Dental Clinic.
The Relief Dentist provides clinical leadership to the staff of the Dental Clinic.
The Relief Dentist assists the Dental Clinic manager in the overall promotion of the Dental Clinic to the UHC and to the university student population through a variety of methods which may include contributions to Health Promotion the Health Center patient information website and inservice training.
The Relief Dentist participates in strategic planning for the development and presentation of new and/or modified dental services within the existing building space and planning for new facilities in support of the UHC mission.
The Relief Dentist provides leadership to the entire dental clinic team with regard to current preventive dental information and dental treatments including procedures products and changes in the Oregon Dental Practice Act.
The position will supervise the clinical delivery of treatment to patients. They will not be responsible for the daytoday business operation scheduling or management of staff.
This position reports to the Assistant Director of Dental Services.
Relief Physician:
The purpose of this position is to evaluate diagnose treat and/or prescribe health care and treatment for University of Oregon students independently or in conjunction with other Health Center physicians. Decisions on health care assessment and followup treatment of patients affect the wellbeing and life of the student/patient.
This position reports to the Medical Director; works with the Administrator on administrative situations; and collaborates with the Medical and Nursing staff and ancillary services of the health center.
These positions require successful completion of a criminal background check and routine screening of Medicaid and Medicare Exclusion Lists. Employee loses eligibility for employment if on the List of Excluded Individuals and Entities (LEIE) and/or System of Award Management (SAM). In addition employees must follow Compliance with UHS policies regarding tuberculosis screening measles and mumps (MMR) seasonal flu hepatitis B and other immunization requirements.
Dentist:
Graduate of an accredited dental school.
Current licensure to practice general dentistry by the Oregon Board of Dentistry or ability to obtain by the agreedupon start date of employment.
Valid Drug Enforcement Administration certification for prescription of controlled substances or ability to obtain by the agreed upon start date of employment.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) CPR certification or ability to obtain by the agreed upon start date of employment.
Physician:
Graduate of an accredited medical or osteopathic school.
M.D. or D.O. licensure by the Oregon Medical Board or ability to obtain the licensure by the agreedupon start date of employment.
Maintains ABMSapproved board certification in Family Medicine Internal Medicine or Emergency Medicine.
Ability and experience in practicing a broad scope of primary care medicine and/or emergency medicine.
Experience in ambulatory care outpatient medicine and/or emergency medicine.
Valid Drug Enforcement Administration certification for prescription of controlled substances or ability to obtain by the first day of employment.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) CPR certification or the ability to obtain by the first day of employment.
Experience with and/or commitment to working effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds in support of an inclusive and welcoming environment.
Dentist:
Experience working with international students.
Experience with Eaglesoft Dental Software.
Experience working in college health.
Physician:
Experience working with international students.
Administrative or leadership experience.
Three years of experience in primary care or emergency medicine.
