Summary of Job Duties:
The Department of Food Science at the University of Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position within the Rice Processing Program supervised by Dr. Griffiths Atungulu. The selected candidate will contribute to the advancement of engineering methods in rice processing focusing on modeling simulations and optimizing postharvest operations including drying storage and milling. Research will emphasize energy efficiency sustainability automation and the production of highquality safe commodities and coproducts. The role also involves developing methods to assess the physical and chemical properties of various rice cultivars and analyzing how these attributes influence rice behavior during postharvest operations and enduse processing.
Qualifications:
- A Ph.D. in Agricultural Engineering (with a focus on food engineering) Food Science or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated research experience in grain or rice processing is required.
