The Opportunity:

The Edge Infrastructure product within Roche (link: consists of several teams that are working on delivering components to the overall product. As Product Owner you will be responsible to drive that teams vision and towards a coherent goal. You will act as a leader not only by bringing ideas and gathering support for future developments from the engineers and other stakeholders but also by funneling the creativity and passion of the engineering team into a unified direction that aligns well with the needs of the overall product.

  • Help drive strategic initiatives aimed at reducing organizational complexity fostering a culture of simplification and improving operational efficiency across the organization

  • Using deep technical knowledge to transform and make direct business impact

  • Challenges the organization to be curious question the status quo and adopt new approaches

  • Help drive the development of advanced capabilities around Digital Products within Mississauga Informatics

  • Act as the customers voice within the team. Invest to understand the needs of users of the components produced by the team. Help the engineering team by sharing these insights e.g. during refinement sessions.

  • Collaborate with the product manager & engineers to align clarify visualize and communicate the team roadmap containing highlevel projects for the upcoming quarters. Constantly update it to reflect current realities and status.

  • Assist with leading the prioritizing individual tickets whether they fall within highlevel roadmap items or are independent of them. This includes addressing shortterm and upcoming topics such as bug reports or maintenance tickets. Ensuring a balanced approach between feature development and managing technical debt effectively.

  • Engage with both internal and external stakeholders to determine the strategic priorities of tasks effectively visualizing outcomes through sprints and the backlog. Ensure that the team operates at peak performance enabling each member to contribute optimally thus maximizing the products impact and aligning with broader organizational goals.

  • Plan and escalate. Assist in leading the planning of timelines of upcoming work according to the teams capacity skills and absences. Regularly update the plan against the actuals and escalate early in case of foreseeable delays.

  • Participate guidance in the release activities to comply with Roche quality processes and regulations ensuring that deliverables are properly tested documented and ready in time to be included with product releases.


Who you are:

The product you will be working on is a highly technical software & infrastructure project mainly targeting developers. As such you will be required to obtain a good technical understanding of the tools & technologies involved and software development processes in general:

  • 79 years of work experience as a software cloud infrastructure or DevOps engineer.

  • Minimum Bachelors degree (Engineer degree preferred)

  • You bring specific experience in the area of cloudnative technologies (public cloud providers like AWS deployment and orchestration tools like Docker & Kubernetes) or modern software stacks (API and frontend development)

  • 25 years experience in content leadership roles or alike (e.g. product owner)

  • Demonstrated through clear evidence in your CV or cover letter a history of proactively undertaking tasks related to strategic planning stakeholder alignment release governance and ticket prioritization in previous roles even without formal responsibility.

  • Successfully led teams to achieve strategic goals prioritized customer needs and contributed to delivering highquality customercentric solutions.

  • You enjoy organizing teams and empowering them to achieve results greater than the sum of their individual contribution.
